Project Description

Resilience

BRING TEAMS TOGETHER ACROSS THE COMPANY TO SOLVE INNOVATION CHALLENGES

Outline

In this workshop, employees will work in teams to each build a working prototype solving a problem. We’ll turn your workplace into a fully functioning MakerSpace capable of producing impressive products.

Our facilitators will then work with your teams to brainstorm ideas, experiment with the technology, iterate physical prototypes and program them to come to life.

  • 3D Printers & Laser Cutters

  • Vacuum Forming Machine

  • Electronics

  • Craft materials & tools

Get Hands On

We know that people learn best through making and that we are much more likely to retain knowledge through experiences than powerpoint.

That’s why all of our workshops use our award-winning invention platform and hands-on challenges.

During the Resilience Workshop, participants will be produced with a locked box recently found near an asteroid crater at Area 51. They will need to solve a series of connected puzzles and riddle against the clock to unlock the box and discover where it came from.

In their teams, they will experience setbacks and frustrations, designed to highlight the importance of grit and resilience, where teams working together well will have the best chance of success.

Deliverables

Each team of up to 8 will create a working physical prototype designed to solve a problem or challenge that we set them. At the end, they will present these masterpieces back to the company, explaining the journey they went on to get to their particular solution and any learnings discovered along the way.

Results

Hack days are an excellent way to demonstrate what can be achieved by diverse groups, with the right tools and expertise. The participants will be able to use the approaches of design-thinking and rapid prototyping when solving complex problems at work. They will also have a much better sense of what emerging technologies are capable of and why they are important.

The prototypes themselves can also be an excellent internal marketing tool to show off the latent talent and entrepreneurship already available at your company.
